The South African Association for Food Science and Technology (SAAFoST) would like to extend an invitation to food scientists and technologists from throughout the world to join us at the 15th World Congress of Food Science and Technology that will be held from 22nd - 26th August 2010 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre under the auspices of the International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST). 2010 is now approaching fast and we invite all members of the global food science and technology community to diarise these dates and make every effort to join us in Cape Town.
Preparations for the Congress have now moved into the key phase of preparing the scientific program. The call for abstracts of papers and posters has now been issued and can be found on this website. We appeal to would-be presenters from both academic and commercial fields to submit their abstracts as soon as possible and no later than the deadline of January 31st 2010. The quality and diversity of the scientific program is the key to a successful Congress!
It is our intention to make the 2010 IUFoST Congress an event that combines high quality scientific content with the opportunity to meet and network in a world class venue - Cape Town is now one of the world's most sought after meeting and tourist destinations, and the International Convention Centre, in the heart of the city and close to such world famous tourist attractions as Table Mountain and the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, is one of the finest and best equipped conference centres in the world.
A further Congress announcement will go out in September 2009 and registration forms will be available in January 2010.
