Exhibition General Information
The IUFoST 2010 Trade Exhibition will run concurrently with the 15th World Congress of Food Science and Technology. The exhibition will showcase South African products, suppliers and expertise, as well as featuring international exhibitors. The show is a "sell out" with over 80 exhibitors and will be the largest trade show organised to date by SAAFoST. Many of the South African companies will have representatives present from their major international principles ensuring the show is a truly global event that will be relevant to both South African and international visitors.
The exhibition is a "must visit" for everyone involved in the Food Science Industry and will be open to members of the trade in addition to the congress delegates. A visit will be a great way to either connect with existing suppliers or to be exposed to new and innovative products and solutions from around the globe. The Meet and Greet area of the exhibition, sponsored by Woolworths, will provide a great area to network, meet with friends and relax.
EXHIBITION HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:
- The Product Theatre sponsored by MASSMART, where you can learn from the experts. Topical themed sessions will be held throughout the day and will help to make visiting the exhibition a not to be missed occasion. - The "Taste of Africa" area sponsored by Appetiser will highlight unique South African products. South Africa has some very exceptional local product offerings and the Taste of Africa area will give both international and local guests the opportunity to enjoy these one of a kind experiences. One of the exhibitors in this area is Red Espresso, who was a winner at the 2008 IUFoST Global Food Awards and another, Choc Aloes was nominated by South Africa for an IUFOST Global Food award this year.
- The IUFoST Global Food Awards area will showcase the 22 finalists in the 2010 IUFOST Global Food Awards. Prizes will be awarded in three categories:
- Product and/or process innovation including industrialization of traditional foods
- Package innovation
- Communicating science-related knowledge to consumers aimed at improving their lifestyle
South Africa has featured highly in the final ranking and 7 South African products have reached the finals .The winners of the 2010 Awards will be announced on Monday 23rd August.
Entrance to the exhibition is free for bone fide members of the trade either by on-line pre-registration OR on presentation of the registration form, that will be included in the July edition of Food Review.
